In this photo, I'm wearing one of my favorite blouses: J. Crew's Oxford boy shirt in polka dot. I think it's a great twist on the everyday dress shirt. It looks great with a work skirt or, in this case, casual skinny jeans and Tory Burch Reva flats. The small size of the polka dots works perfectly for a smaller frame. In addition, the black and white combination provides a great backdrop for bright accessories, such as my green J. Crew Tillary purse and a green beaded bracelet from Coup de Coeur (a Manhattan boutique chain with fabulous inexpensive clothes and jewelry!). The AG skinny jeans are super comfortable, and to give them a tailored look, I fold them underneath (meaning, the cuff is on the inside of the jean). I hate when skinny jeans bunch at the hem because they're too long!

Fabulous footnotes:

*At the moment, the Tillary purse is sold out on J. Crew's website. However, I would suggest looking for it in the actual store. Not only did I find it, but I paid almost $100 dollars less than the price listed online!

*AG jeans frequently pop up on shopping sites like Gilt, which is where I purchased mine for $49.00. They are incredibly comfortable and I love the dark wash!

In the August issue of People Style Watch, I read an interesting statistic: while 8% of women are at least 5'9", 39% of women measure 5'4" or less. Indeed, most of the women I know (myself included) are on the shorter side. Yet we are surrounded by tall models. When we browse our favorite online stores and fashion magazines, we never see petite women. Ultimately, we see tons of beautiful pieces and have no idea how we would look in them.

Until now. Consider me, Stella, your petite-sized model! In this blog, I will be exploring the newest styles and showing you how they look on US, not on a model with a 37-inch inseam. I don't want the petite women of the world to feel discouraged; you too can enjoy the styles you admire on taller women. We may have to make a few adjustments, but we should never give up altogether! I'll be showing you how I dress for our size, and any tricks I employ to make a great style look better. I'll also be showing you other cool things, like ways to save money, places I love to shop, and fun finds at stores ranging from J. Crew to CVS.

Here's to being SHORT and fabulous!
