For work yesterday, I wore this high-waisted sailor skirt by Nanette Lepore (purchased on TheRealReal.com), with an embellished tank from J. Crew and cardigan from Crewcuts. As I've said before, high-waisted skirts are great for short women because they make their legs look longer. They also add more shape by cinching in the waist. Because the skirt's a little on the long side, I went with this short cardigan (I thought that would keep the proportions in line). As much as I love navy and cream together, I thought the collar appliqué and Kate Spade embellished flats would give the outfit something extra. Admittedly, I would probably go with a heel next time; the skirt hits at the knee (as opposed to above), so extra height would probably make the outfit even better!
